Sha Lek Corner Community Mural Painting Project

Have you ever imagined to have the chance to co-create with an international artist for the community? If you did, here's your dream come true!

All the indoor activity spaces at Sha Lek Corner are made of converted containers. We are glad to have an international artist Eric Niebuhr to lead a community mural painting project to give the converted container walls a facelift !

Interested members of the community are welcome to join this "Community Mural Painting Project"!

Eric is an American-Australian artist based in Hong Kong. Painting and installation are his major media of creation. He is particularly good at identifying unique features of Hong Kong that tend to be overlooked, and turning them into poetic abstract paintings. At first sight, it may be hard to identify the subjects of his paintings. However, after appreciating for a while and realizing his subject, you would be amazed and delighted by what his has drawn!

In this community mural painting project, you can take part in the process to help beautify and enrich the area. Through hands on experience, you will learn about the steps in creating a mural on a unique surface and learn how Eric developed his site specific design inspired by the history of the landscape.

This sustainability art project will connect us with nature and the past for the sustainable development of our community.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, only a limited number of places are available for each session of this programme. If you wanna join, please register by submitting a completed application form via the link below!
