Sharing by Ben Wong

Artists Co-op's Monthly Artist Sharing in August had Mr Ben Wong sharing his experience in running a start-up art-related business and his experience of long-staying in Taipei.

Ben Wong, graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and worked as a teaching assistant there before studying in Canada for a Master of Visual Arts. Before attending university, Ben completed his apprenticeship, and served as a craftsman and finally a workshop supervisor in the Kowloon-Canton Railway.

For over 10 years, Ben had been providing consultancy service in Hong Kong for local schools and communities to provide support on art projects. He was also a co-author of art and design textbooks for local secondary education.

Ben moved to Taiwan in 2014, and since then he has been going between Hong Kong and Taiwan and promoting art exchange in the two places. For example, in 2015, Ben invited 3 artists from Taiwan to visit their artist-fellows in FoTan, and offered his studio for two of them to join the Fo Tan Open Studios 2016 in showcasing their works.
